Did you know we have been doing car and motorcycle shows and events for the last 17 years? Thousands of photos wait for you to browse by year and event. Fill a few hours by touring our Massive Photo Vault
Below are just a couple of the photos you may find:
Or an event called, ” I spent a lot of money on my Ferrari or Lamborghini and I can’t find it on the field.” This was a staggering collection of high dollar sports cars held at a local golf course on bright and sunny Saturday morning. I raced over to the event as soon as it was due to open to get a good parking spot and beat the crowds and heat.
The cars were carefully placed in neat rows with gems hidden among them like this race car, Bugatti Veyron or even the Jensen Interceptor. I am certainly sure that when the 2 McClaren’s showed they had an “moment” like two women at a party with the same dress.
Crowds leisurely gathered and admired the beauties. I almost expected to see wine glasses and appetizers followed by gentle conversations of the day on the golf course or polo field. Actually, many talked engines, oil and modifications. Don’t let the photo below fool you–camera’s snapped and jaws dropped as hoods and engines started.
I have been to a lot of car events and museums over the years and this one had some beauties that I have never seen. Do yourself a favor and browse the Photo Gallery from the event to see them for yourself.
Buddy Stubbs is as close to an Arizona Harley legend as you can get. He has had a motorcycle shop here in the valley since 1966 and has represented the HD community in movies and TV over the years. His dealership is located off of Cave Creek Rd features a large museum that he opens up once a month to the faithful that want to learn more about the heritage of Harley and the man himself.
Buddy was born into the Harley tradition. His dad owned a dealership in the mid-west and he grew up with a motorcycles in his life from childhood. He did what came natural; Ride and Race–Sell and Service. He built a museum attached to the dealership and twice a month he cracks the vault like door and lets the faithful into his glass walled heaven. Like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory the people await entry into paradise; some are tourists while others are hard core fanatics of motorcycles. Buddy’s collection stretches from almost the beginning of motorcycling through the modern period.
These are Buddy’s bikes! All of them run. Some he raced, others he just owned and rode and some he even challenged in a cross country ride of pre-1916 motorcycles. The collection ranges from Harley Davidson (of course) to British and Italian motorcycles. Buddy has even been in movies and TV shows as a stunt driver. The Harley below was featured in the “ElectraGluide in Blue” movie featuring Robert Blake.
Check out the Photo Gallery of the Museum to see more great bikes. If you happen to be in Phoenix on one of these special days the museum is open–Stop in and Enjoy the Tour. Buddy is quite the showman and motorcycle fanatic!
This was a day of firsts:
- 1st 100 degree day of 2011 in Phoenix
- 1st Annual PetSmart SSG Car Show
Everywhere I have worked you get to know the cooler cars that lurk in the parking lot. You recognize and quietly catalog the cars and eventually connect with the owners over time. These are the cars that only make it out of the home garage on a great weather day or on a special Friday. PetSmart SSG (Store Support Group) is no different with more than 1,000 employees filling the campus.
About 20 cars and a couple of Harley motorcycles made the trip to the 6th floor of the parking garage that afternoon. The time out of the office and ability to talk cars made for a nice distraction from the tasks of the day.
The collection of cars ranged from antique to modern and hot rods to Smart cars. Although dominated by a collection of Corvettes and Mustangs the more unique cars gathered some attention too.
You won’t find this on the advertised list of car shows in Phoenix so don’t miss your chance to check out the Photo Gallery from the PetSmart event.
